My heart aches for the loss of such a wonderful lady. When I look back on my childhood Mrs. Roberts is in so so many of my memories. She was my second mom growing up and has stayed dear to my heart over the years. I can't count how many times we would all laugh till we cried because of Mary Jo's hilarious personality. She made everything sillier, crazier and more fun. I feel so lucky that she played such a big part of my childhood. Diania, Gregg and Mrs. Roberts' entire family, please know we are all thinking about you and are so very sorry for your loss. I don't have to tell you how much she loved and adored you all. She always had pictures and a story to tell of those grandkids of hers. I will pray for God to help you get through this difficult time. God Bless you Mrs. Roberts. Rest in Peace. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

I met Mary Jo in high school, but, due to a 45-year gap in our relationship, we never developed the kind of closeness most friends who have known each other for that long establish. My fondest memory is when she walked in the john that I was using between classes. Since there were a few minutes before the bell was due to ring, Mary Jo hopped up onto one of the sinks to chat for a while. Her weight pulled the plumbing right out of the wall! What should I do? she asked. My reply was, Its not like you did it on purpose. Just stop in the office after your last class and tell them what happened so they can fix it.

We have lost someone very special. My oldest and best friend has departed from this world but she has left wonderful memories that will keep her alive in my heart and mind forever. Since high school we have shared all of the special events of a lifetime. We celebrated our weddings, births of our children and their special events. We vacationed together, celebrated holidays and rang in the New Year more than once. We laughed, worried, and cried along the way. I knew that when I needed someone to talk to or just wanted to pass the time, she was never far away. You will be missed. My condolences to Diania and Gregg and all of her family.
